Trigger points

Trigger points are balled up muscle fibers in the muscle belly. Pain can start where it originates or further away in another part of the body. The colors shows where you may feel a radiation pattern once the trigger point is pressed, or the area that is causing the trigger point to become active. In most causes trigger points can become active from being misused such as:

  • Bad posture
  • How we sleep (soft/hard mattress, side sleeping, soft pillows too high/low, stomach sleeping)
  • Stress
  • Computer Work (long hours in one position)
  • Over working our bodies (weight lifting)
  • Past injuries
  • Lacking ROM (range of motion)
